The Bach Original Flower Remedies were developed by Dr Edward Bach a Harley Street doctor and well known Physician, Bacteriologist, Homeopath and Researcher. Despite the success of his work with orthodox medicine he felt dissatisfied with the way doctors were expected to concentrate on diseases and ignore the people who were suffering from them. He was inspired by his work with homoeopathy but wanted to find remedies that would be purer and less reliant on the products of disease. So in 1930 he gave up his lucrative Harley Street practice and left London, determined to devote the rest of his life to a new system of medicine that he was sure could be found in nature. Dr Bach believed that attitude of mind plays a vital role in maintaining health and recovering from illness and wanted to find something that treated the cause rather than the symptom. After identifying 38 basic negative states of mind and spending several years exploring the countryside, he managed to create a plant or flower based remedy for each one.
Each of the 38 Bach Original Flower Remedies are unique and help to treat different emotions.

If this negative state has taken root there may be dark rings under the eyes. As Gorse is taken so the darkness will change to light. HORNBEAM: For those taking a long time to "come round" when waking, still tired after a good nights sleep. Usually a kind of mental/boredom tiredness, the kind you often get after a day spent doing nothing, bringing on a feeling of procrastination. Do not confuse with Wild Rose. Hornbeam refreshes the mind. SCLERANTHUS: Unable to choose between two things. Indecision. Weighing things up they will urgh & ah, taking a long time to reach a decision. All of this has to do with balance, so in the negative state can cause stumbling, shakiness, vertigo, mood swings, etc. This essence brings an inner balance and a decisive character. WILD OAT: For those unable to see their true path in life, wishing to find the vocation right for them. Each person is put on earth to serve a Divine purpose; something which will come easily and naturally to them and which they will enjoy doing above all else. This essence will help them to see the right path.
REACH OUT TO OTHERS
HEATHER: The remedy for those talkative people who hate to be alone. Needing to keep talking of their own personal problems and illnesses, making poor listeners, and often pinning others down making "escape" impossible. As they take this essence they will regain the ability to enjoy their own company and will start taking a lively interest in others. IMPATIENS: For impatience and irritability. Those liking things done very quickly, perhaps preferring to work alone as slower workers irritate them. Those needing Impatiens may flush, or flare up and loose their temper easily. Brings a gentle patience. WATER VIOLET: These gentle, sensitive souls can often become negative, a state in which they acutely feel the need to withdraw into their own space, needing to distance themselves from others; perhaps feeling somewhat aloof and slightly superior to their fellow man. Very proud and upright people, these negative emotions bring a sense of loneliness. The transformation brought about is the ability to socialise easily and to share their integrity, wisdom and knowledge with others as their sense of separateness dissolves.
STAND YOUR GROUND:
AGRIMONY: For those putting on a brave face when inwardly in turmoil and worried. Bottling things up, sometimes exploding in anger, unable to express their feelings when necessary, liking to keep the peace, at much cost to themselves. They may be restless at night, or suffer throat problems. Brings peace and an ability to communicate happily. CENTAURY: Unable to say "no". Often taking on too much and tiring themselves out. A distorted view of service. Lacking willpower, the weak mind frequently resulting in a weak body. Folks needing Centaury often lack individuality, being so influenced by stronger personalities. This essence brings strength and the ability to say "no" without guilt, when necessary. HOLLY: A strong essence to counteract the strong emotions of envy, jealousy, suspicion, revenge, hate and anger. As Holly is taken it will open the heart and flood it with love, in the face of which these strong negative emotions cannot exist. Can bring about "unconditional" love. WALNUT: These gentle, sensitive souls can often become negative, a state in which they acutely feel the need to withdraw into their own space, needing to distance themselves from others; perhaps feeling somewhat aloof and slightly superior to their fellow man. Very proud and upright people, these negative emotions bring a sense of loneliness. The transformation brought about is the ability to socialise easily and to share their integrity, wisdom and knowledge with others as their sense of separateness dissolves.
LIVE AND LET LIVE:
BEECH; For those people who are very critical and judgemental of others. Often irritated by people's little habits. Very intolerant and with a fixed outlook, often bringing rigidity of the body. This essence brings great tolerance and an ability to view life with a wider perspective. CHICORY: Chicory is for people possessive of those they love, wanting them near, to cling onto and to love. The "needy mother". A selfish love which often shows itself as greed, boarding possessions or as liking sympathy when ill. Can evoke illness to attract attention. The positive aspect is the ability to give love unconditionally. ROCK WATER: For people who punish themselves, often unknowingly. Very hard on themselves, wishing to set a good example to others, therefore becoming very rigid. They often deny themselves the smallest luxury, or even necessity, making martyrs of themselves. Sometimes very rigid in diet, attitudes or lifestyle. The tension this causes will ease as this essence is taken. VERVAIN: For those people who over strive. Perfectionists who like things done properly, but fast. often workaholics, they can be fanatical and over enthusiastic in their views, wanting to change the world or the way people think. In their enthusiasm, they are inclined to ram their own opinions down people's throats, not having learned that good is never achieved by force. This causes much tension, which is eased by taking this essence until this lesson is learned. VINE: When in the negative state, these very strong minded people will ride roughshod over the opinions, thoughts and feelings of others, completely oblivious to the fact that they are "commanding" in the wrong way. They will intimidate others weaker than themselves, often without realising. They will not usually argue as they KNOW they are right and expect everyone to go along with them. The positive state, created as Vine is taken, is that of great leadership capabilities.
LIVE THE DAY:
CHESTNUT BUD:The symptoms are repetition of the same mistakes over and over again, not learning lessons the first time, whether it be life's lessons or academic ones. Excellent for students who are slow learners, or anyone failing into the same trap, again and again. Helpful for the mentally retarded. CLEMATIS: Drifting off into daydreams or fantasies of the future, therefore the mind has lapses of concentration on the earth level, bringing inattentiveness, poor memory, dizziness, bumping into things or tripping up. Quiet, gentle people, often more at home "up there". Often appearing deaf and needing lots of sleep. People working a lot in their imagination often need the "grounding" this essence brings, e.g. artists and writers. HONEYSUCKLE: For those locked in the past, to happier times perhaps, unable to keep their minds on today's living; this can bring regrets and sadness. Excellent for those suffering from homesickness, bereavement, divorce, or any kind of loss. Use in conjunction with Star of Bethlehem and Walnut, to help recover quickly from these sad events. MUSTARD: Mustard dispels gloom or depression, that often feels like a weight or black cloud overhead. These feelings of despair come, and go for seemingly no apparent reason. Mustard casts out the clouds bringing back joy and sunlight. OLIVE: For tiredness or exhaustion; physical/mental. Useful for convalescence after an illness, restores strength, or for short term use after a hard day's digging in the garden etc., put 2 drops in a drink and sip, replenish if necessary. WHITE CHESTNUT: To be taken at those times when our thoughts are taking over our life, preventing concentration on little else. Like a hamster on a wheel, the same worries will buzz around and around in the head and if we try to think of something else it will be to no avail, as the same thought will shortly return to pester us. White Chestnut calms the mind, bringing peace. Can be useful to help sleep. WILD ROSE: Apathy, boredom and resignation are the key words when in the negative Wild Rose state. Most of us, at some time, will experience a loss of enthusiasm even for the things we usually enjoy doing. This is due to an apathetic resignation which can bring with it a feeling of tiredness. Many experience this during long term illness, as they are often told to resign themselves to the fact they may never be well. Wild Rose will bring back joy in life whatever the circumstances.

Dealing with grief
By Serena
One thing in life we are all certain off and that is each of us at some stage in our life will have to deal with the loss of someone very precious to them, may it be a parent, a grand parent, a child or even miscarriage… this we are all guaranteed, there is no escaping it!
With my own personal experiences, I have lost so many loved ones… also have lost 3 babies through miscarriages and this broke my heart and my husband’s… this is one of the hardest things I feel we have to deal with in this lifetime… I also lost my dearly beloved mum on September 2004 and that was like having my heart torn out of me… I knew when mum was going to go, I had a premonition and was shown exactly what was going to happen etc and also the date… even to this day, that fateful day is so vivid in my mind. The worst about having this premonition was the fact I kept questioning myself as to why did spirit give that to me? I felt useless, I couldn’t do anything to help my mum and that was awful… however I feel I do receive premonitions for spirit to pre pare me… my mum wasn’t just my mum… she was also my best friend… we laughed, cried, spoke, listened to each other etc and then all I could feel was… Why has my mum/best friend been taking from me?
Grief really is a very horrible thing, we each feel robbed and our hearts ripped out, this is every person who has lost somebody and it doesn’t matter who we are, whether we are mediums or not, we are still affected in one way or the other… yes as mediums we know that there is only a very thin line in between our world and the spiritual world however it still affects us all differently… the best way I found I have dealt with my grief is … I know my 3 babies are with my mum and will remain there and will be there for me when my time comes… I also know that my 3 babies and my mum are here with me and feel that is very important for other people to always remember… Our loved ones never ever leave us… it’s just the physical of the body that does…
Always remember too that your loved one/ones are in no pain when they cross over… any illness’s or disabilities that they had on this earth… totally left them when they went over to the spiritual world… the one consolation I have is yes I may see, hear, sense spirit and have seen my mum and 3 babies so I know I am very lucky… what I want to say to all out there that don’t have this is to watch your dreams… as a lot of the time when grieving spirit do come via dreams.
Never ever feel guilty for grieving as it is the most natural thing in the world however always remember too that one day, you will all be back together again and never forget that.
AURAS
Written by Goddess
WHAT IS AN AURA
An aura is an energy field that surrounds a person or object. In a person it is thought to reflect their personality. There is no doubt we all have a personal aura that can be seen and possible photographed. Each person’s aura is uniquely individual to that person; it is similar to a fingerprint. Fluctuations in the intensity of colour can give us an insight into the moods or feelings and health of that individual. Most of us can’t see an aura, there are those of us who can, you can also learn how to read aura’s. It is said that the human consciousness is manifested on 7 levels that is to say the seven layers of the aura.
The physical body is where our consciousness manifests itself. To be conscious of the here and now, what we do. Fears of the physical body we all know about, sickness ill health death these things we are conscious of, as we are of eating, walking.
The Etheric body is the closest to the physical body. This is a thin invisible layer approx 2 cm thick. This is where the energy is reflected when it flows through the chakras and meridians. Consciousness is expressed as sensations of physical pain or pleasure. It is said our dreams are found in the Etheric layer. This is connected to the root Chakra
The third body is the emotional body The emotional body is egg shaped and it contains the other two layers. This layer reflects our feelings and emotions, happiness, sadness, love, hate, sorrow. It is important to deal with your emotions day to day; otherwise your hurt/upset can cause blockages which can lead to medical problems. This is connected to the navel Chakra.
The mental body the function of this layer is to teach us self knowledge. The mental body reflects the conscious mind, logic intellect and thinking. Our mind is the constructer. Mental health is reflected in this area and is connected to the solar plexus Chakra.
The Astral body. Unconditional love, this is connected to the heart Chakra. This layer is a bridge between the physical world and spiritual realm.
The Etheric template body (divine will) This can be identified with our memory and thought process. This is where our memories, past forgotten ones, remembered ones are mirrored. The Etheric template stores the present and the possible future memories; this is connected to the throat Chakra
The celestial body this mirrors our subconscious mind, which is the part of our inactive brain. If you listen to your subconscious your intuition, you can make your life more rewarding. Consciousness expresses as higher feelings, universal love; the kind that goes beyond human into the universal love for all life. This is connected to the third eye Chakra
The causal body (ketheric template) this is the last body. This body spins at a high frequency. This is the level where the soul communicates with our conscious mind via our subconscious mind in the mental body. This is the level where our initial creativity begins. This is connected to the crown Chakra.
Cleansing your aura
Our auras are like magnets we pick up vibrational energies that are floating around everywhere we go. It is important that we cleanse our auras often to free them of negative energies. Below you will find a few simple ways to do it.
Using your fingers like a comb, comb through the space surrounding your whole body from your head to your toe. Wash your hands with running water before and after doing this.
Stand under a waterfall or shower.
Walking in the rainfall. (Caution not during an electrical storm)
Run freely and playfully in the wind.
Using a single feather or feather whisk and making sweeping motions through the space surrounding your body. Turkey feathers or owl feathers are especially good for sweeping your aura.
Smudge the area surrounding your body with the smoke from Sage, lavender, or sweet grass.
Immerse and soak your body in an Epsom salt bath.
It is also a good idea to do a few deep breathing exercises while cleansing your aura; this will aid the flushing of your inner body. Enjoy and feel the benefit of the cleansing.
Cleansing the environment
You can cleanse the room or your environment. You can smudge the room with sage, using a feather if you wish to direct the smoke. Whilst doing this you can make a verbal affirmation as you go along, asking for cleansing or purification of the room or environment.
All of the above details are just a few ways of cleansing your aura or environment; there are of course many other means of doing so. Most people eventually find their own way of cleansing aura’s or negative energies.
Soft light is best to read auras. Get yourself a piece of white paper or cardboard large enough to place your whole hand on. Place your hand on the cardboard and relax your eyes….
Don’t stare at your hand; instead look at the areas surrounding your fingers and fingertips…
After a while once you are relaxed enough, you will start to see a soft haze surrounding your hand. If you look long enough, you begin to see colour….
Beginners can normally only make out one colour, but after practising you will get better and will be able to see more colours. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t see anything when you start to learn, it takes practise to become good at reading auras

For your consideration;
- There are 49 Known Minor Chakras, and over 1600 acupuncture points. I understand that an Acupuncture point is a power centre in the ‘Ley Lines’ of the body...
- Some of the other Chakras are located in Temples, Ears, Elbows, Knees. I’m sure you can think of or find some more.
How do I use them? Over the years i have been working as an Healer/Hypnotherapist... i have worked in different ways with the Chakras... mostly just by experiment and then by intuition... what i felt i should do... as opposed to what books said.
I first started out just by locating them with my hands (feel different.. warm.. tingly.. sparky lol hard to describe... just different to the other areas of the body) and really working on the 7 points that I knew of at the time..
I would visualise the colour they should/wanted to be... pouring energy in until the colour they wanted to be was pure.. clear... then i started to see the Chakra.. which to me looked like a vortex... and i encouraged it to flow better... and then to pulse in and out of the body at a rythym that suited it... i visualised clearing it off (round door all covered with moss and muck.. so used firehose to clean it up... broke off the locks and let it work.... all sorts of different mental images...) but...
the end result was freeing up the Chakras to do what they were supposed to do...
I understand that if we have emotional/physical/spiritual blockages.. baggage from the past..etc.. then by clearing the blocked chakras can often help the healing process...
With a spiritual person i get them to work on their own Chakra centres whilst under hypno... with a non spiritual person i can still do the same but because, for example, i understand that heart and emotional and love problems are associated with the chakra in the centre of our chest... i can suggest that they work on the knot in their chest.. give them the colour... allow them to clear it and set it pulsing as it feels it should... in effect clearing the blockage... with no mention of fluffiness and chakras lol
Another one is physical... back pain is often a physical response to not resolving feelings of being the sole support.. or not being supported by others... so by working on the root chakra helps both with personal power and energy... and resolving the support issues.
I would also recommend to anyone interested in self development, to do regularvisualisations toclear your own Chakras.. to work with them and keep them clear and in good order...
Its such a huge subject... and as i keep saying.. its just another tool in the Healers tool box... learn it as little or as much as you feel ready to... but IMO the more knowledge we have the better the tool box available to us when we come to working with spirit and healing energies to help others and ourselves.
Dreams
Written by Tinamoo
The one thing that each and every one of us has in common is that we all dream. Dreams are very important. They help us to make sense of what has happened in the day, solve everyday problems and we can even receive messages from our loved ones who have already departed.
The first part of dream analysis is to start making a note of your dreams each morning when you wake up. It is very important to do this as soon as you can as throughout the day important details get forgotten. It does not matter how scruffy your notes are as you can write them up neatly a bit later on. Another option which I think is a great idea (probably better if you do not share a room) is to buy a hand held recorder and keep it by the bed. You can then record your dreams and listen back to them to write them up.
When looking at a dream the first thing that I do is to think back to what was on the television or what I read the day before and disregard it. Once this has been done I look for significant symbols in my dreams for example animals, buildings, people etc.
When I first started to analyse dreams I used to rely heavily on dream dictionaries. I have since given all of these away bar one which I love because of the art work. I do not like them as I do not believe that symbols have the same significance to everyone. As I have previously stated I have a fear of dogs, so for example if I had a dream that I was sitting on a rug stroking a dog lovingly it would have a different significance to me than if my husband who loves dogs was having the same dream.
You can receive answers to problems in your dreams. I am sure that we have all used the expression "I'll sleep on it", when having to make a big decision. I personally feel that most times when you do have a problem if you think about what dream you had the next morning the answer will be there. It is totally up to you whether you take notice of the dreams message or not.
That brings me neatly to the subject of nightmares. We are all human and there are times in our lives that we really do not want to face up to our problems. We bury our heads in the sand hoping that things get sorted without us having to face up to things and do anything. Nightmares are our minds way of trying to make us face up to our problems. The worst that our nightmares are the more urgent the problem is and the nightmares generally do not get better until we start facing up to things.
Dreams and dream analysis is a vast subject and I hope that this brief introduction has been useful.
